Job Description

Citi offers a technology-focused environment where you can build and operate reliable data integration solutions that support critical financial systems. This onsite role in Tampa, FL pairs hands-on ETL engineering with operational support, data quality, and metadata governance. You will work within Citi’s Technology team using the Ab Initio suite to deliver scalable pipelines that transform upstream data into formats required for Oracle Financials SaaS, while contributing to compliance, risk assessment, and transparent issue management.

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, resilient, scalable ETL processes using Ab Initio components including GDE, Co>Operating System, and EME.
  • Transform upstream data into the required structure for Oracle Financials SaaS as part of the Oracle Ledger program and Strategic Ledger pipelines.
  • Run data analysis, profiling, and data quality assessments to help ensure integrity of data through the pipelines.
  • Convert Strategic Ledger business requirements into technical specifications for ETL jobs and data models.
  • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries to support extraction, transformation, and loading across multiple database platforms.
  • Create and manage metadata in Ab Initio Enterprise Meta>Environment (EME), including version control and adherence to development standards.
  • Build Unix/Linux shell scripts for automation, scheduling, and file manipulation tied to the data transformation workflow.
  • Oversee progress across analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation phases of the development lifecycle.
  • Provide operational support for production applications, troubleshoot issues, and perform performance tuning to meet business SLAs.
  • Apply specialty knowledge of ETL and Ab Initio to analyze complex data problems and recommend efficient solutions.
  • Partner with data architects, business analysts, and other technology teams to align solutions to enterprise standards and business needs.
  • Follow essential procedures and help define operating standards and processes for the ETL framework.
  • Advise or coach new or lower-level analysts by sharing expertise in Ab Initio and ETL/data integration best practices.
  • Assess risk thoughtfully when business decisions are made, with specific consideration for Citigroup’s reputation and safeguarding clients and assets, including compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations related to data handling. Escalate, manage, and report control issues with transparency, using sound ethical judgment and adherence to policy.

What you’ll need

  • Hands-on experience in data systems analysis and ETL development.
  • In-depth Ab Initio expertise (mandatory) with GDE, Co>Operating System, and EME.
  • Strong SQL proficiency and experience with relational databases such as Oracle and Teradata.
  • Solid experience with Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and implementing successful data-centric projects, preferably in financial services.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL best practices.
  • Experience with large-scale data transformation and loading into financial systems (e.g., Oracle Financials, SAP) is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, and adapt to unexpected requirement changes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with job scheduling tools such as Autosys is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques and methods is beneficial.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.

Job type: Full time

Salary range: USD 96,960 - 145,440 per year
