Job Description

The Data Scientist role, based in Stafford, VA (onsite), at Booz Allen Hamilton, offers a salary range of USD 77,600 to 176,000 per year and applies data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to transform structured and unstructured data into actionable insights across private and public sectors to address global challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Apply analytical skills and data science expertise to drive real-world impact for clients.
  • Collaborate with clients to define questions and needs, then explore data-rich environments to extract relevant information.
  • Develop algorithms and systems, selecting appropriate tools and frameworks to convert disparate data points into objective insights that inform decisions.
  • Provide a deep understanding of the data, its implications, and how it can be applied to solve problems.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in data exploration, cleaning, analysis, visualization, or data mining.
  • 2+ years of experience with statistical and general-purpose programming languages used for data analysis.
  • Experience analyzing structured and unstructured data sources.
  • Experience developing predictive data models, quantitative analyses, and visualization of targeted data sources.
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Natural Language Processing.
  • Knowledge of text mining or machine learning techniques.
  • TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree.

  • 2+ years of experience with distributed data or computing tools, including MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, Gurobi, or MySQL

Work Model

  • Hybrid: You will be expected to work from a Booz Allen facility frequently, aligned with leadership expectations and role needs; you may also be required to work from or visit a customer facility.
  • Onsite: Work will primarily be performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers as required by the role.
