Data Scientist
Job Description
PTx (AGCO) is hiring a detail-oriented, business-focused Data Scientist to strengthen its Business Intelligence function. In this onsite role, you will connect analytics work to business outcomes by building reporting assets and predictive insights in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
What you’ll do
- Work with business leaders to understand KPIs, performance drivers, and reporting requirements.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and automated reporting tools that support daily decisions.
- Run deep-dive analyses to uncover trends, operational gaps, and improvement opportunities.
- Build descriptive and predictive models to improve forecasting and performance measurement.
- Convert analytical results into clear, business-friendly insights and recommendations.
- Help with data governance by supporting data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across systems.
- Collaborate with IT and Cloud teams to improve data pipelines and increase BI data availability.
What you’ll bring
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in data science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Agriculture, or a related field. An M.S. degree is also acceptable with a strong data analysis background.
- Experience in Business Intelligence, analytics, or data science roles supporting business operations.
- Proficiency with BI tools such as Tableau or Domo.
- Strong SQL skills, including extracting, cleaning, and transforming data from multiple sources.
- Experience using Python or R for statistical analysis or machine learning.
- Ability to explain complex analytical concepts clearly to business stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Technology environment
You will work with Tableau, Domo, SQL, Python, R, Databricks, Delta tables, Databricks/Spark SQL, notebooks, scheduled jobs/workflows, ERP/finance, CRM/sales, and APIs.
Preferred background
- 1 to 2 years of professional experience.
- Experience in Databricks Lakehouse environments, including Delta tables, Databricks/Spark SQL, notebooks, and scheduled jobs/workflows.
- Ability to integrate and model data from multiple systems such as ERP/finance, CRM/sales, and operations or field systems, using SQL databases, APIs, and flat files.
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT patterns in modern lakehouse stacks, including cross-team collaboration with data engineering on pipelines and data quality.
- Knowledge of forecasting, segmentation, and statistical analysis techniques.
- Experience in financial, operational, or customer analytics.
- Experience building scalable self-service semantic layers, curated datasets, and reporting frameworks.
Compensation
This role offers a base salary range of $84,000 - $176,000. Final compensation is based on experience, skills, and qualifications. You may also be eligible for a target annual bonus of 8% of base salary as part of AGCO’s total rewards program.

Workplace
This position follows AGCO’s on-site work model. You will primarily work from the Tremont, IL location (with the option to support collaboration from Louisville, CO) about 4 days per week.
