Job Description

The Global Data Analyst owns Dermalogica’s global and international reporting and analytics ecosystem across markets and channels. This hybrid role in Carson, CA focuses on maintaining and improving dashboard capabilities, safeguarding data quality, and delivering dependable insights for global stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain global and international reports and data flows in Power BI, including proactive troubleshooting, validation of data quality and accuracy, and dashboard updates as new innovations, markets, and channels become available.
  • Keep dashboards current with manual data reporting (including Amazon US sell-out data provided in Excel), and review existing Excel report distribution to identify items that can be simplified or automated within Power BI.
  • Maintain sell-out data integrity and serve as the primary liaison between business users and IT for sell-in data queries, supporting ongoing simplification and streamlining of reporting processes.
  • Provide ad hoc analytics to global departments, market GMs, and senior leadership, responding to dashboard questions with timely and accurate data across markets and channels.
  • Ensure global and regional teams have standardized, user-friendly analytical tools and dashboards for self-sufficient performance management, including monitoring dashboard usage, retiring unused workbooks, and maintaining proper report accessibility and formats.
  • Design and build new Power BI dashboards end-to-end, covering data engineering and modeling through to visualization, with a focus on question-led, actionable insights and performance benchmarking (vs. target, vs. prior year, and vs. market).
  • Deliver monthly innovation tracking updates across markets to inform global performance calls, analyzing launch performance against expectations and identifying trends by region and channel.
  • Build analytical models to evaluate how new business opportunities affect existing channels across markets, highlighting potential risk factors and identifying growth opportunities using cross-market performance and sister brand insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of previous analytical experience.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and Excel, including hands-on experience creating visualizations from large datasets and multiple data sources.
  • Additional BI/ETL tools, automation skills (including Python and Power Automate), or programming knowledge are a plus.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized with the ability to learn independently.
  • Tech-savvy approach and openness to adopting new technologies, systems, and tools.
  • Strong ownership mindset with initiative and follow-through, including a track record of identifying opportunities and delivering end-to-end solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical mindset to work through complex and ambiguous problems, perform root cause analysis, and ask effective questions to drive solution-focused outcomes.
  • Constructive approach to challenging established norms and driving change.

Compensation

Expected base salary range: $80,000 to $100,000 per year.

The exact base salary is determined by factors including experience, skills, education, and budget. This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan based on personal performance and company results.
