Human Performance Data Scientist I
Job Description
General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Human Performance Data Scientist I to support program initiatives by entering, cleaning, and analyzing HP data to advance SOF readiness, while building and maintaining databases and generating reports with program staff and a government biostatistician. This onsite role at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington situates you at the intersection of data science and human performance, contributing to the resilience and readiness of Special Operations Forces personnel.
Responsibilities
- Enter, clean, and prepare HP data collected through program initiatives to ensure accuracy and usability.
- Collaborate with program staff and the government biostatistician to build and maintain databases and spreadsheets that capture performance metrics, wellness indicators, and program participation data.
- Engage with strength coaches, dietitians, athletic trainers, physical therapists, psychologists, and cognitive enhancement specialists to identify opportunities for meaningful data collection.
- Assist in preparing basic reports and presentations that convey trends, participation metrics, and readiness insights for program leadership.
- Access and use government systems to manage and analyze human performance data as part of the contract requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in quantitative science, social science or related discipline.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Access.
- Basic proficiency with statistical software such as SPSS, SAS, or R.
- Competence may be demonstrated through prior work in sport science, military human performance, healthcare, research, or a publication record.
- Strong communication skills with high attention to detail and organizational ability.

Salary
Estimated annual salary range: $72,877 to $98,599. Final compensation is determined by experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements and may fall outside this range.
