Job Description

The Lead Data Engineer will decommission legacy SQL based infrastructure and rebuild data pipelines on modern cloud platforms, including Snowflake, AWS, and dbt, to support Safelite’s SV2 transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Assess SSIS packages and document the underlying business logic
  • Rebuild and modernize data pipelines using dbt, Snowflake, and AWS
  • Migrate data from legacy SQL clusters to scalable cloud-based infrastructure
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define, test, and deploy clean, optimized pipelines
  • Contribute to architectural decisions aligned with Safelite’s SV2 transformation strategy

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with SSIS and a solid understanding of package structures
  • Expert-level SQL skills
  • Proven track record in cloud data engineering, including migrating and transforming large-scale data in the cloud
  • Proficiency in dbt, including dbt seeds and modular pipeline builds

Project Overview

You will join a newly formed team dedicated to decommissioning legacy SQL based infrastructure and rebuilding pipelines and logic on modern cloud platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, and dbt. This is a high impact role supporting one of Safelite’s most visible internal transformations.

Compensation

Salary: USD 145,000 - 150,000 per year

Location: Dublin, OH, onsite
