Senior Data Analyst
Job Description
Senior Data Analyst role focused on strengthening accounting and finance reporting across Wonder brands, from month-end close through audit-ready deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the accounting team to support recurring close deliverables, ensuring month-end data is accurate, reconciled, and delivered by firm close deadlines.
- Connect and analyze data across multiple source systems to explain financial results and support reconciliations and accounting workpapers that can stand up to audit review.
- Build and maintain reporting and analytical tools to improve efficiency, automation, and timeliness of recurring deliverables, standardized reporting, and ad-hoc analysis.
- Work with central data and data engineering teams to ensure financial data accuracy and availability for both day-to-day decisions and the quarterly close.
- Support external audit data requests by documenting data sources and lineage to strengthen audit readiness.
- Identify opportunities to apply technology and process improvements that increase rigor and repeatability of the close process.
- Collaborate with business functional areas, data engineers, and software developers to develop and evolve management financial reporting tools and data models.
Requirements
- Bright, highly analytical, and technically oriented individual able to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel experience, including working with large datasets and building reporting tools.
- Advanced SQL skills.
- 4+ years of practical experience analyzing and engineering large data sets, ideally in a finance, accounting, or operations context.
- Comfort connecting and interpreting data across disparate systems to answer accounting and financial questions.
- Familiarity with accounting operations and the month-end close cycle is a strong plus; external audit support experience is a bonus.
- Highly organized, with a track record of managing projects and competing priorities under deadline pressure while maintaining composure.
- Strong attention to detail with a big-picture orientation.
- Self-starter with high motivation, bias for action, and passion for innovation; interested in building processes and deliverables from the ground up.
- Strong collaboration skills across internal teams (accounting, finance, operations, data, engineering) and external stakeholders such as auditors.
- Track record of learning and adopting new tools and skills to better execute on goals.
