Job Description

Leidos Defense Systems offers a senior data analytics role rooted in real mission impact. Join a collaborative team within the Advanced Sensors and Protective Technologies portfolio to build analysis tools, data products, and data-driven insights for EO/IR systems in an Agile/Scrum environment. This onsite position is based in Huntsville, Alabama, with a competitive salary range of USD 107,900 to 195,050 per year and a culture that emphasizes impactful work, professional growth, and a strong sense of mission.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers and scientists to design analysis scripts, data processing pipelines, and data products.
  • Support data collection efforts, including cleaning and validating data from multiple sources.
  • Analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that advance program objectives.
  • Develop data visualizations to accompany analysis outputs and findings.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and contribute to software, modeling and simulation, and test plan development.
  • Implement industry standard and custom performance metrics to characterize outcomes.
  • Document analysis methodologies, processes, and results for traceability and reuse.
  • Assist with design of experiments and conduct parametric trade studies to inform decisions.
  • Enhance current modeling and simulation capabilities to reduce gaps between real and synthetic data.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover opportunities and inform next steps.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 8–12 years of relevant experience, or Master's with 6–10 years of relevant experience; Doctorate in a technical domain may be considered.
  • Proficiency in Python with experience using statistical and data analysis libraries (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, scikit-image, statsmodels) and data visualization libraries (matplotlib, seaborn, plotly).
  • Experience analyzing large datasets containing mixed data types.
  • Track record of developing data visualization products.
  • Knowledge of a range of machine learning architectures, including classical ML and modern deep learning techniques for supervised and unsupervised tasks.
  • Residence in the North Alabama area or willingness to relocate to Huntsville – North Alabama, AL.
  • Active SECRET clearance or higher.
