Admin. Data Analyst
Job Description
Sharp HealthCare in San Diego, California is seeking an Administrative Data Analyst to join its on-site analytics team. This role focuses on administrative data analysis, reporting, and supporting performance improvement initiatives across hospital departments. The position offers a pay range of $37 to $53 per hour and requires at least two years of experience along with a bachelor’s degree.
Responsibilities
- Operate with minimal supervision to conduct or oversee complex administrative analyses, applying knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, and practices while supporting management and administrative functions as needed.
- Analyze data from Cerner, EPSI, GE, Press Ganey, HCAPS, PATS, Crimson, Truven, RL Solutions, data warehouse, and other databases.
- Use data insights to answer questions and drive performance improvement efforts.
- Apply process improvement concepts and serve as a change agent.
- Handle project-based assignments, thoroughly analyzing problems, gathering data, evaluating alternatives, and making final recommendations.
- Demonstrate strong computer skills and the ability to work with multiple business and clinical systems for data collection and reporting.
- Navigate intranet, internet, and other resources to obtain data and information.
- Synthesize data into executive summaries to support decision making.
- Understand workflow, clinical systems, and clinical outcomes to determine data collection feasibility and methods.
- Act as a consultant and resource for clinical staff, service lines, departments, and committees to develop, report, and graph data for performance improvement.
- Develop and maintain methods to ensure data confidentiality.
- Collaborate with Sharp HealthCare Information Technology, Clinical Effectiveness, and Finance to gather and compile reports from multiple applications.
- Communicate with physicians and offices in a positive and courteous manner.
- Work harmoniously with management, staff, physicians, and others; prioritize workload; document messages and notify appropriate personnel.
- Support administrative office functions as needed.
- Display data using spreadsheets and graphical formats for quality analysis.
- Understand clinical areas and workflow to inform data collection methods.
- Apply knowledge of business systems and operations, and use change management and Lean techniques to improve wait times, workflow, and clinical outcomes.
- Review, analyze, and summarize reports for Administrative officers, committees, and agencies.
Requirements
- 2 years of experience in the analysis and presentation of statistical information or equivalent.
- Master's Degree.
- 2 years of experience within a hospital and/or medical setting with knowledge of medical terminology.
- Bachelor's Degree in Social science, Business or Public Administration (relevant work experience in excess of 5 years may be considered in lieu of bachelor's requirement) - Required
