Administrative Specialist (Data Analyst)
Job Description
The Administrative Specialist (Data Analyst) is an on-site role supporting the U.S. Marshals Service in Louisville, KY. The position involves gathering, analyzing, and interpreting sizable datasets to uncover insights that guide strategic decisions, as well as organizing and managing case files in both physical and electronic formats and supporting investigative activities. An undergraduate degree is required, and compensation is listed as USD 20 - 24 per yearly.
Responsibilities
- Create and sustain organized case files in both physical and electronic formats.
- Organize and manage case files across paper and digital repositories.
- Assess data for completeness and proper execution of records.
- Review, input, and retrieve information from the database.
- Gather supplementary information from external investigative agencies and databases.
- Receive petitions and claims, place them on suspense as needed, and process requests.
- Resolve data inconsistencies across records and systems.
- Compile information and assemble investigative packages.
- Verify the accuracy of case files and case tracking records.
- Prepare and reconcile investigative reports.
- Handle receipt and distribution of documents, including court filings.
- Support the lead analyst in collecting all documents and information needed to complete a case file.
- Offer administrative information and support related to cases to external investigative agencies, local law enforcement, the U.S. Attorney, other DOJ processing units, and higher headquarters.
- Extract data from agency databases to support management and program reporting.
- Perform word processing tasks relevant to case documentation.
- Enter data pertinent to case records.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree required.
- Ability to review and analyze data and information from diverse sources.
- Capability to establish case or project files in both paper and electronic formats.
- Ability to input and retrieve data from databases.
- Ability to prepare and format management reports.
- Skill in manipulating, transferring, calculating, and printing information.
- Proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing tools.
- Ability to create and modify spreadsheets.
- Ability to prepare and edit reports and correspondence using word processing software.
- English proficiency required.
