Data Analyst

Amentum is seeking a Data Analyst to support performance measurement and analytics efforts at the client level in McLean, VA. In this role, you will transform enterprise data into reports, data products, and models, applying AI/ML and statistical methods to generate actionable insights.

What you’ll do

• Prepare regular and ad hoc performance reports to deliver timely, useful insights.
• Create and maintain documents, databases, reports, and presentations required to support initiatives.
• Provide support to the Sponsor’s business analytics stakeholders as needs arise.
• Apply AI and machine learning techniques to unstructured data to identify hidden patterns and insights.
• Use statistical techniques to develop models leveraging enterprise data warehouses and/or data lakes.
• Collaborate with a team of professionals, sharing knowledge and ideas to achieve strong outcomes.

Core skills and qualifications

• TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• US citizenship.
• Bachelor’s degree in a strongly quantitative field (examples include Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Information Systems, or Computational Linguistics).
• Strong background in data analysis, including a solid understanding of SQL principles.
• Experience programming in languages such as Python, R, or similar.
• Ability to build data products such as dashboards and printable reports using visualization tools such as Tableau (or similar).
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with individuals at all levels verbally and in writing.
• Strong organization skills, with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to travel as needed.
• Must take and pass a drug test and background check, as well as a motor vehicle records check.
• Minimum experience: 5 years.
• Preferred qualifications: Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, or Mathematics.

Environment and physical requirements

• General office environment.
• Fast-paced work with sometimes extreme deadline pressure.

• High degree of teamwork and cooperation with staff and customers across the company.

Additional responsibilities

• Safety: participate in maintaining a safe work environment, complete training requirements, and support emergency response tasks as appropriate.
• Quality: comply with Amentum Quality Policy, customer expectations, and applicable quality system documents and customer contracts.
• Procedure compliance: read, understand, and implement operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements related to the position.
• Other essential functions include professional grooming and dress appropriate for the position and consistent attendance, with possible overtime during critical peaks.

Compensation

USD 190,000 - 205,000 per year
