Job Description

Noblis is seeking a Data Analyst and Visualization Consultant for the Data Analytics & Visualization Team in Springfield, VA. The role focuses on converting complex data into actionable insights that support enrollment, scheduling, and student success through analysis, visualization, and data governance.

Compensation

USD 82,500 - 128,925 per year

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and run ad hoc queries for quick-turnaround analytics, including data discovery, schema analysis, and multi-table joins to support dashboard development.
  • Design and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Tableau and SQL to communicate results and enable data-driven decisions.
  • Perform data profiling and anomaly detection to identify data quality issues and generate recommendations for data governance initiatives.
  • Document data definitions, locations, and relationships to support the data catalog and related business analysis work.
  • Apply statistical methods, data mining techniques, and machine learning algorithms to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights from multiple data sources.
  • Create slide decks and presentations that communicate data governance guidance and analytical findings to clients and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Work independently and in collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate data analytics into business processes and applications.

Required Qualifications

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Active Top Secret clearance is required, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI with CI polygraph.
  • Education and experience combination requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience, or
    • Master’s degree with 1+ years of experience, or
    • Ph.D. with 0+ years of experience, or
    • Associate’s degree with 6+ years of experience, or
    • High school diploma/GED with 9+ years of experience.
  • Develop programmatic solutions to aggregate data using SQL, Python, and Syntasa.
  • Build, update, and maintain Tableau dashboards.
  • Validate data and dashboards for accuracy and consistency.
  • Manage access requests and ensure data security compliance.
  • Document work clearly and keep JIRA tasks up to date.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather project requirements.
  • Propose and implement workflow efficiencies, such as programming shortcuts and automation.
  • Contribute to data dictionaries and shared documentation.
  • Provide technical mentorship to teammates.
  • Develop data governance recommendations and guidance.

Desired Qualifications

  • Degrees in Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Analytics/Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other visualization tools.
  • Experience cleaning and documenting data sets.
  • Strong attention to detail, including the ability to identify repetitive tasks that could be automated.
  • Team player with clear communication skills.
  • Critical thinker who takes initiative and “fails forward.”
  • Portfolio or examples of dashboards and analysis work.
  • Familiarity with programming (R) for automation, GitHub, and higher-ed data.

Remote/Hybrid Status

Remote/hybrid status is subject to change based on Noblis and/or government requirements.

Travel and Clearance Notes

This role requires an active Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain SCI with CI polygraph.
