Data Analyst - Sourcing Analytics

The Data Analyst - Sourcing Analytics role at Sysco in Houston, TX (hybrid) focuses on analyzing and reporting Sysco’s sourcing activities to support negotiations. This position emphasizes data validation, strong analytics, and a practical working knowledge of database design using Microsoft Access and SQL Server.

Responsibilities

• Develop analytics that establish the factual basis for sourcing negotiations.
• Analyze sourcing data following the Category Management process data template.
• Lead analyses that illuminate key cost drivers, pricing trends, new market regions, and supplier capabilities and capacities.
• Recommend improvements to the sourcing process to enhance efficiency and outcomes at Sysco.
• Provide data support to supplier relations and category management teams.
• Prepare ad hoc sourcing reports for Sourcing Managers, Category Managers, and SSR Managers as needed.
• Offer analytical backing to the SSR Manager during supplier business reviews.
• Collaborate with the insights team to design surveys and interviewing guidelines for principal suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• 1 to 3 years of business analytics experience, with a preference for experience in a sourcing environment.
• Strong proficiency with data structures and data access/reporting methods.
• Excellent command of Microsoft Excel, Access, and SQL Server.
• Foundational knowledge of statistics and quantitative analysis techniques such as spreadsheet modeling and regression analysis.
