Data Scientist
Job Description
Castalia Systems is seeking a Data Scientist to support a government customer from the St. Louis, Missouri area. This onsite role combines geospatial data management with analytics, automation, and GEOINT web services, working closely with production offices, analysis teams, and data owners. If you hold an active TS/SCI clearance with a CI Polygraph, you will help build and maintain map-based applications in a classified environment.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate in a team environment and coordinate with production offices, analysis, and data owners as needed
- Document, manage, and automate enterprise geodatabase synchronizations and related workflows
- Automate data and service processes using scripting and model building within ESRI Portal technology to develop and maintain map services
- Independently identify, document, address, and communicate technical challenges
- Support data management tasks including data extraction, validation, and manipulation
- Conduct data analysis to assess integrity, identify patterns, and communicate corrections for gaps
- Perform statistical analysis to identify trends and patterns, and build reports for SF leadership, the IC, and DoD (or NSG)
- Deliver schema maps and entity resolution across disparate geospatial data sources
- Document and visualize data temporarily and spatially to support integrity checks and analytical assessments
- Develop and apply methods to identify, collect, process, and analyze large volumes of data to build and enhance GEOINT processes and systems
- Support GEOINT web services publication, including application-ready content, metadata-tagging for discovery, and publishing GEOINT web services
- Implement ESRI Story Maps in a classified environment
- Support and manage geodatabase versioning workflows
- Provide dashboard support across platforms for business analytics, including data visualization using IC Portal and other dynamic viewers
- Design, develop, program, and test applications, and exchange data within and across information systems
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- At least 4 years of full-time experience creating and applying algorithms and statistical methods to data, visualizing data, and developing database architecture
- Demonstrated experience with Python scripting using ArcGIS API, ArcPy, and GeoPandas
- Demonstrated experience with script validation, documentation, and modification
- Demonstrated experience with geo-spatial data extraction, validation, and conditioning
- Demonstrated understanding of data analytics and statistics
- Demonstrated experience developing SQL queries
