Job Description
Verizon is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design, implement, and scale agentic AI and ML models for the Verizon Consumer Group. The role emphasizes turning architectural concepts into production-grade code with a focus on reliability, performance, and scalable systems. This hybrid position is based in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, combining remote work with in-person office days as needed.
Compensation
Salary range: USD 101,000 to 194,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Design, test, and scale agentic AI/ML solutions, including specialized workflows and LLM-powered systems for VCG platforms.
- Integrate AI agent frameworks with existing customer success, digital, and retail channel technologies.
- Collaborate with product managers and GTS engineering teams to implement and refine production-grade technical roadmaps.
- Participate in engineering code reviews, technical design sessions, and red-teaming exercises to ensure safe and reliable model behaviors.
- Optimize model inference pipelines, API endpoints, and data integration layers to meet high-performance consumer demands.
- Assist in technical research and rapid prototyping to quickly evaluate and adopt emerging open-source and proprietary AI frameworks.
- Contribute to documentation of technical specifications and create materials to showcase pilot performance results.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
- One or more years of hands-on experience building and tuning AI/ML models or integrating LLM applications.
- Experience with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile).
- Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.

Where you'll be working
This hybrid role has a defined work location that includes working from home and at least three days per week in the office, as set by the manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.
