Job Description
Sr. Data Analyst role at GameStop onsite in Grapevine, TX, offering USD 146,515 per year to support forecasting, data analysis, reporting and dashboard development for supply chain, inventory and operations.
Responsibilities
- Forecast monthly and yearly labor, parts and supplies, overhead, and overall volume.
- Produce and report forecasted spend, volume and rate figures to the Director of Finance and the Financial Analyst.
- Compare forecasts against actuals and historical data, incorporating manager input to adjust projections as needed.
- Forecast weekly inbound, outbound, and inventory volumes.
- Aggregate monthly ROC spend and allocate it for submission to the Director of Finance and the Financial Analyst.
- Present these figures to managers and respond to questions as they arise.
- Analyze variances between actuals and forecasts to identify drivers of significant differences.
- Update the SFC database per supervisor requests for new users and per SFC team requirements (routing, symptoms, parts, etc.).
- Collaborate with the SFC team to maintain data integrity.
- Promote validated data from QA to Production for floor deployment.
- Update weekly WBR and Exec WBR decks, adjusting misallocated costs, removing non-production HOL charges, and refining visuals.
- Create, analyze and maintain Power BI reports using SQL (GBQ, PostgreSQL, Azure) and Python for Labor, Headcount, SFC Failure Analysis, QA metrics and Inventory Control/Shrink metrics.
- Leverage reporting insights to explain concepts and outliers to managers and supervisors.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ROC data sources to pull data quickly on request.
- Collaborate with colleagues inside and outside the ROC to answer questions from managers, including linking SAP and WM for shrink and OOS, and coordinating with the Principal Data Engineer on inventory transactions from WM to GBQ.
- Perform ad hoc data reporting and analysis using Excel, Power BI and SQL.
- Provide key metrics on short notice to leadership in the pre-owned business.
- Coordinate with executives and operations floor partners on initiatives.
- Analyze MES data for diagnostics, repairs, cleaning and quality control to identify trends and bottlenecks.
- Develop and maintain dashboards to monitor KPIs such as turnaround time, defect rates, yield, and units per labor hour.
- Provide data driven insights to support inventory management and supply chain performance.
- Design and optimize SQL queries to improve data retrieval efficiency for reporting needs.
- Maintain Power BI dashboards for ROC reporting.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to identify inefficiencies and streamline operational processes.
- Conduct root cause analysis to resolve quality issues and improve supplier and vendor performance.
- Apply statistical methods and predictive modeling to forecast product demand, optimize inventory levels, and improve production scheduling.
- Analyze return data to inform product design improvements and quality initiatives.
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness and consistency by enforcing data quality standards.
- Develop automated ETL pipelines into Google BigQuery to support scalable reporting and integrate data from multiple sources for centralized analysis.
- Implement data governance practices and ensure compliance with security protocols, including access control, data classification and audit readiness.
- Partner with manufacturing, electrical, design and finance teams to deliver actionable insights.
- Prepare and present analytical findings to business stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field, plus five years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree in the same fields plus three years of relevant experience.
- Strong SQL and database querying skills.
- Experience with data platforms and tools such as Google BigQuery and Power BI.
- Ability to create clear visualizations with Power BI or similar tools for non-technical stakeholders.
