Data Analyst

Guidehouse is seeking a Data Analyst to support a public diplomacy office at the Department of State. This on-site role in Washington, DC centers on data governance, analysis, visualization, and data-informed operations across the client environment. The position carries a salary range of USD 98,000 to 163,000 per year and requires a bachelor’s degree with four or more years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in shaping and implementing the client’s data strategy and governance framework, maintaining related documentation, tools, and templates.
• Define data requirements and ensure that the storage, availability, and coherence of electronic information meet client needs.
• Collect, cleanse, validate, and integrate data from multiple sources to support analysis and reporting.
• Collaborate with non-technical users to gather requirements, document data quality issues, and propose improvements.
• Develop intuitive, interactive dashboards and visualizations using large datasets in Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools for users with varying technical backgrounds.
• Request, document, analyze, and report on data, and develop tools or resources as needed to support ongoing data and reporting needs.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain automation and reporting tools using Power BI, Power Automate, and related Microsoft Power Platform capabilities to streamline workflows and improve data accessibility.

Requirements

• Active and maintained Secret federal or DoD security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Four or more years of relevant data governance and analytical experience, preferably supporting government agencies.
• Experience in data analysis methods and using Tableau, Power BI, or similar data visualization tools to develop dashboards.
• Experience developing or customizing applications using Microsoft Power Apps.
