Data Analyst
Job Description
Cathedral Arts Project is hiring a full-time, salaried Data Analyst for a hybrid role in Jacksonville, FL, reporting to the Vice President of Advocacy & Community Engagement.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement a unified organization-wide evaluation framework, including a shared theory of change and logic model, standard outcome indicators, and common measurement tools across all CAP programs.
- Consolidate information needs of program leadership, funders, donors, schools, families, and community partners so program staff collect data once for multiple reporting uses.
- Perform in-house quantitative analysis (descriptive, trend, and comparative) using SQL, R, and Python, leveraging internal program data plus relevant external and public data sources.
- Build dashboards for real-time visibility into outcomes across the organization.
- Oversee organization-wide data reporting and evaluation for all active grants.
- Act as the primary liaison to third-party evaluators and external research partners, including universities.
- Translate analysis into clear narratives and data-driven recommendations for funders, donors, the board, and CAP leadership.
- Establish organization-wide data quality standards.
- Document methodology so the evaluation framework can withstand staff turnover and scale as the organization grows.
- Partner with the Data & Survey Coordinator to support field-collected data meeting framework standards.
- Use a daily workflow that starts with reviewing dashboards and incoming field data, flagging items needing closer review with the Research Assistant.
- Block dedicated time to clean, analyze, and visualize data, including work to refine logic models or measurement tools.
- Meet with Program Directors and/or the Philanthropy Team to align on outcome indicators and the data required for grant reports or proposals.
- Coordinate with third-party evaluators or university research partners and/or present findings to CAP leadership.
Requirements
- Experience in program evaluation, applied research, and/or data analysis, including designing logic models, outcome indicators, and measurement tools (ideally leading evaluation for grant-funded programs).
- Advanced quantitative analysis skills using SQL, R, and/or Python, with experience managing relational databases or data platforms.
- Experience creating dashboards and data visualizations that communicate outcomes at a glance.
- Ability to translate complex analysis into clear narratives and visuals for non-technical audiences, including board members, funders, and donors.
- Experience collaborating with third-party evaluators, university research partners, and/or external data sources.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail and a focus on building durable processes beyond a single grant or staff member.
- Proven ability to work independently and cross-departmentally to define measurable success and ensure data serves multiple parts of CAP.
- Education: Master’s degree in education, social science, statistics, public policy, or a related field, or a bachelor’s degree with equivalent professional experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to produce reports, presentations, and other documents.
- Experience in education, youth development, or K-12 settings is preferred but not required.
- Must pass official Level 2 background screening as outlined by Florida state law.

Compensation
- $70,000 - $80,000 per year (based upon experience)
