Principal Data Scientist - Recommendation & Personalization Systems

Principal Data Scientist focused on recommendation and personalization systems, building high-scale ML models and personalized recommendation engines within Capital One's Applied AI team.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a cross functional team of data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver a product that resonates with customers
• Utilize a broad tech stack including Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark, and related tools to uncover insights from large volumes of numeric and textual data
• Develop machine learning models through all stages of development, from design and training to evaluation, validation, and deployment
• Translate complex work into clear business goals through strong interpersonal communication

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field, plus 5 years of data analytics experience
• Master's Degree in a quantitative field or MBA with a quantitative concentration, plus 3 years of data analytics experience
• PhD in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field
