Trusts and Estates Tax Data Analyst
Job Description
This role supports fiduciary income tax return preparation and filing by analyzing, validating, reconciling, and reviewing data to strengthen controls and reduce operational risk, with collaboration across internal stakeholders and external vendors, and exposure to Alteryx, Tableau, and Python.
Responsibilities
- Review, reconcile, and validate data to preserve integrity for tax processing and reporting
- Identify automation opportunities and propose enhancements that boost efficiency and reduce risk
- Assist with process improvement initiatives, including documenting requirements, performing testing, and supporting rollout activities
- Develop and maintain documentation for automation requirements, implementation steps, testing, and standard operating procedures
- Produce and maintain recurring metrics and performance reporting, including dashboards, volume, timeliness, and quality, with stakeholder-ready summaries
- Support ad hoc data requests from team members to satisfy urgent analysis needs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Strong critical thinking and data curiosity with an automation-minded approach
- Highly detail-oriented with solid research skills and a commitment to quality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, able to clearly escalate and explain data issues to partners
- Ability to act with urgency and exercise sound judgment to meet time-sensitive fiduciary tax deadlines
- Flexibility to work extended hours as needed for key tax deadlines
