Job Description
UNO International Trade Strategy is seeking a meticulous International Trade Data Analyst to support client engagements from the Bethesda area. The role blends data analysis with regulatory submissions, focusing on turning sales and cost data into reliable inputs for DOC and ITC processes, building and updating databases for questionnaire responses, and contributing to antidumping and countervailing duty proceedings through targeted research.
Responsibilities
- Examine client-provided sales and cost data to validate accuracy and ensure alignment with DOC and ITC reporting standards.
- Develop and maintain sales and cost databases submitted to the DOC as part of questionnaire responses.
- Support the preparation of questionnaire responses to information requests from U.S. trade authorities.
- Evaluate antidumping and countervailing duty calculations and identify factors driving the results.
- Research and analyze international trade statistics and trends.
- Review case precedents concerning trade remedy proceedings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; economics, statistics, mathematics, or accounting preferred.
- Proficiency in a statistical programming language (R or Python) is required; SAS experience is a plus.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including XLOOKUP, conditional SUMPRODUCT, and pivot tables.
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret government questionnaires, case precedents, and decision memoranda to determine appropriate analytical responses.
- Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize under deadline pressure.
- Prior experience in trade remedy, regulatory, audit, or government consulting is a plus.
- Overtime and weekend work may be required to meet deadlines; occasional travel may be required.
