Job Description

Join adidas in Portland, OR (hybrid) to support North America business functions with expert data, analytics, and technology. In this Senior role within NAM Data & Analytics (DNA) Business Insights, you will help shape reporting and data visualization so leaders can make better decisions backed by clear, action-oriented insights.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with business partners to create or modify reports, dashboards, planning templates, and other data and insight solutions that support a fast-moving business and improve decision-making
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying ways to enhance data quality and ensure reports, dashboards, and forecasting templates align with adidas best practices
  • Apply business knowledge to ensure data is accurate, valid, timely, and clean
  • Build and manage data and report distribution processes that are efficient, timely, and easy for users to work with
  • Look for opportunities to streamline processes across the existing Business Insights tech stack, DBMS, and data architecture, recommending and piloting changes when appropriate
  • Partner with Tech and across the DNA team to support optimum data availability and stability, including troubleshooting issues related to transfer, storage, retrieval, and calculation
  • Implement current technology and best practices for data architecture, modeling, and availability
  • Collaborate with Global and Market DNA teammates through partnerships and idea sharing to deliver value-adding solutions
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional projects as required, including work with third-party and external partners
  • Act as a data change-agent across the organization

Required experience and skills

  • 5-7 years of proven experience in several areas such as data analytics, data wrangling, database management, finance, and information technology
  • Proven success creating and maintaining databases, ensuring data integrity, managing data flows, and supporting data storage in an enterprise DBMS
  • Expertise in reports and analysis that impact decision making at senior management level (including CEO and CFO)
  • Experience leading influential projects with peers, business partners, and senior managers
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to present information in writing and orally and respond to questions from senior leadership and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated knowledge of BI and data exploration and visualization tools, including Power BI
  • Knowledge of data architecture and modeling concepts in context of Datawarehouse, Data Lake, and/or Lakehouse
  • SQL proficiency, plus MS Excel and Power Query
  • Experience delivering in Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and using tools such as JIRA and Confluence (or similar)
  • Ability to troubleshoot, define problems, collect and interpret data, and draw valid conclusions to solve issues
  • Cross-functional thinking, including ability to join data from various sources and derive meaningful conclusions or develop innovative solutions
  • Ability to work independently with little guidance across multiple projects, with a growth mindset and continuous learning in a feedback culture
  • Passion for data

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Business Analytics or Data Analytics, with concentration in Business, MIS, Finance, or Accounting, or equivalent relevant job experience
  • Retail math understanding and key business drivers (preferred)
  • Understanding of data visualization and exploration concepts, including how to tell stories through data
