Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing technical guidance and directional leadership to the business, engineering teams, contractors, and vendors
- Deploy and operate end-to-end machine learning models in production environments
- Deploy and maintain services in a fully cloud native environment
- Champion enterprise AI assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, while establishing consistent validation standards and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and review or debug code written by others
- Influence decisions affecting product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
- Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more focus areas
- Contribute to the engineering community by advocating firmwide SDLC frameworks, tools, and practices
- Apply SDLC tooling knowledge, including enterprise authorized AI assisted development and automation, to increase the value of automation
- Encourage peers and project stakeholders to consider and adopt new, leading-edge technologies
- Contribute to a team culture that values diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering with at least five years of applied experience
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and maintaining operational stability
- Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages
- Deep knowledge of software applications and technical processes with substantial expertise in cloud, artificial intelligence or machine learning, mobile, or related areas
- Proven track record leading the effective use of approved AI assisted software development tools, with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption
- Ability to independently address design and functionality challenges with minimal supervision
- Practical cloud native experience
- Educational background in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field
