Job Description

AHU Technologies Inc is seeking a Data Analyst for an onsite contract role in Washington, DC. The position offers an hourly range of USD 60 to 67 and requires a Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant work. This opportunity focuses on understanding functional and technical requirements, analyzing data, developing and deploying complex reports, and documenting data originating from the agency’s applications.

Responsibilities

  • Interface independently with high level stakeholders via meetings, emails, and phone calls to manage data projects; gather and document requirements; and collect sample data throughout all project phases to ensure data quality.
  • Collaborate with District agency resources to analyze, compile, verify, and query data as part of data warehousing services; develop complex SQL queries for reporting environments and data driven dashboards; create metadata and data dictionaries.
  • Design and document methods to facilitate the implementation of new database systems; design and implement reports using SQL and a range of reporting and business intelligence tools.
  • Develop and administer data standards, policies, and procedures; cultivate new standards, methods, and techniques; establish common approaches to problem solving and processing requirements; develop and analyze new projects.
  • Create scripts to identify and correct common errors and data inconsistencies in incoming data, with extensive use of SQL.
  • Troubleshoot issues involved in input, retrieval, or modification of database information and the general operation and maintenance of enterprise data system elements.
  • Perform complex data analyses, validate data, and identify and correct inconsistencies and errors; analyze requirements for Client and OCTO enterprise systems and applications; plan for data capacity changes; evaluate the impact of technological changes; conceive solutions to highly complex technical issues; operate and maintain BI systems.
  • Coordinate all activities with the project manager throughout the full software development life cycle, including design, development, and testing.
  • Work with minimal oversight as a technical lead on data driven reporting and applications development projects.
  • Stay current with trends in database management and related concepts to enhance agency data management practices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Extensive knowledge of a wide range of IT standards, principles, concepts, methods, policies, and system testing principles and methods. 16 years of experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of authorized system approaches for IT related to database management. 16 years of experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of analytical methods and practices, and requirement analysis principles and methods. 16 years of experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of working with relational database technologies. 16 years of experience.
  • Extensive knowledge in creating metadata and data dictionaries; designing and implementing reports. 10 years of experience.
  • Extensive knowledge creating database views used for live data feeds and development of data-driven dashboards. 10 years of experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and managing small IT projects with minimal oversight. 15 years of experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of data warehousing concepts and collaboration with data architects on database schema design. 15 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of BI systems operations and maintenance. 10 years of experience.
  • Expert knowledge and skill in oral and written communication, and in evaluating and reporting on accomplishments. 10 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to speak and write clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. 10 years of experience.
  • Proven skill in data analysis and SQL code development. 16 years of experience.
