Job Description

CGI Group, Inc. invites applications for a Senior Data Analyst to drive large-scale data initiatives within a highly regulated financial services environment. The role centers on gathering and analyzing business and data requirements and translating these into database and ETL specifications, with collaboration across the Software Development Lifecycle.

Role Overview

The Senior Data Analyst will partner with business stakeholders, development teams, and QA resources to ensure data solutions align with strategic objectives. This position emphasizes translating requirements into concrete data designs, supporting data loads, and validating data quality within an enterprise setting.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit and analyze business and data requirements
  • Translate requirements into database schemas and ETL specifications
  • Ensure data solutions align with business objectives
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, development teams, and QA throughout the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Define source-to-target mappings
  • Document business processes
  • Validate data loads
  • Develop and execute test scenarios
  • Support the resolution of complex data quality issues

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in software development, data analysis, or related technology roles, including work on large-scale, complex enterprise projects
  • Strong understanding of and hands-on experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Ability to translate business requirements into detailed database, data mapping, and ETL specifications
  • Experience creating and maintaining source-to-target mapping documentation
  • Advanced SQL skills for data analysis, validation, and querying
  • Solid knowledge of data warehousing, data integration, and ETL processes
  • Experience documenting business processes, workflows, and functional requirements
  • Capability to develop, execute, and support testing activities for data loads and data quality validation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with careful attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with stakeholder interaction
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving data-related issues
  • Familiarity with testing tools such as HP Quality Center or Mercury Quality Center is preferred
  • Experience working in enterprise-scale financial services environments is highly desirable
  • Exposure to cloud-based data platforms and AWS environments is beneficial

  • Location: Reston, VA (hybrid)
  • Salary: USD 121,200 - 154,300 per year
  • Minimum Experience: 8 years
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
