Sr. Data Engineer, Deal Tooling and Insights, Strategic Customer Engagements

Senior Data Engineer on the Strategic Customer Engagements team at Amazon Web Services to build scalable data analytics platforms and translate data into actionable insights for strategic deals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain the backend data stack powering analytics platforms and applications, ensuring data is clean, up-to-date, and ready for downstream use.
• Lead architectural improvements to simplify complex data systems and transformations, proactively addressing bottlenecks in the data infrastructure.
• Convert business problems into concrete data requirements, collaborating with business intelligence engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to define data products to build.
• Ensure data quality through monitoring, validation, auditing, and documentation of pipelines and data sources.
• Leverage AWS services and GenAI to deliver next-generation data solutions that boost efficiency and enable new analytics capabilities.
• Create data pipelines designed for near real-time access by large language models and develop data products and feature stores to support GenAI applications.
• Lead design reviews of your team's data architecture and participate in design reviews of related software and data systems.

Requirements

• Five or more years of data engineering experience.
• Experience in data modeling, data warehousing, and designing ETL pipelines.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming or scripting language such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS.
• Experience mentoring teammates on data engineering best practices.
