Join CFA Institute’s Enterprise Data Analytics team as a Data Analyst supporting better business decisions through reliable data and clear reporting. This remote role in Virginia helps translate structured datasets into trustworthy visualizations, dashboards, and recurring analytics for internal stakeholders.
What you’ll be doing
You will partner with the team to keep data ready for analysis and reporting. The work includes cleaning, preparing, and documenting structured datasets so they remain accurate, consistent, and usable downstream. You’ll also help build foundational visualizations and dashboards using standard tools such as Excel, SQL, and Python.
Day to day, you’ll run predefined analyses and templates following established methods and processes. You’ll perform quality assurance on reports and data pipelines, identifying and correcting errors before publication. When issues are known, you’ll investigate and apply standard troubleshooting steps; if something is novel or ambiguous, you’ll escalate it to senior team members.
In addition, you’ll support colleagues’ use of data management and reporting systems by answering routine questions and directing people to documentation. You’ll also contribute to the preparation of recurring data and analytics reports for internal stakeholders.
How you’ll grow in the role
The position includes ongoing training and coaching, with hands-on project work focused on developing foundational data analysis skills and business knowledge.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, data science, computer science, economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Professional experience in data analysis, reporting, or a related analytical role
- Foundational knowledge of statistics, data wrangling, and visualization using Excel, SQL, and Python
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in data preparation and reporting
- Ability to follow established methods and processes, with judgment to escalate novel or ambiguous issues
- Effective written and verbal communication, including the ability to present findings clearly to internal stakeholders
- Strong organization skills to manage multiple tasks under close supervision
- Comfort working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with AI tools such as Microsoft Co-Pilot, ChatGPT, Claude, and Cursor

- Anticipated base salary range: $70,000–$100,000 per year
