Senior Data Engineer responsible for designing, building, and deploying data pipelines and solutions to support AI/ML and business intelligence, leveraging AWS, Databricks, and Python.
Location: Hartford, CT onsite
Salary: USD 139,400 - 230,000 per year
Responsibilities
- Lead data engineering efforts to migrate to a new SaaS based call center platform, constructing and maintaining pipelines that connect the upstream data source to the enterprise analytics ecosystem.
- Design and operate data pipelines for call transcript data at scale, applying Generative AI tools for sentiment analysis, topic modeling, entity extraction, and summarization to surface insights for the Customer and Digital Analytics group.
- Build and sustain data pipelines that ingest and consolidate data from a diverse set of customer and agent facing digital applications, including public mobile and web platforms supporting policy rating, issuance, and maintenance.
- Enable analytics capabilities to measure and improve the digital experience across front end applications by engineering reliable, scalable data solutions capturing user interactions and behavioral data.
- Develop and operationalize complex data solutions, apply transformations, and implement data cleansing and quality practices.
- Design complex data solutions incorporating new data sources and ensure consistency across projects aligned to data strategies.
- Analyze complex data sources to determine value and usage, and recommend data to include in analytical processes.
- Incorporate core data management practices including governance, security, and quality.
- Serve as a data and technology subject matter expert within business lines to support delivery and educate end users on data products and analytic environments.
- Perform data and system analysis, assess defects and incidents of high complexity, and implement appropriate resolutions.
- Collaborate across teams to support delivery and educate end users on complex data products and analytic environments.
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs Degree in computer science, related STEM field, or equivalent.
- Ten years of related experience.
- Advanced knowledge of tools, techniques, and manipulation including cloud platforms, programming languages, and modern software engineering practices.
- Strong delivery skills including determining the software design strategy and methodology, using automated tests, conducting analysis, and maintaining feedback loops to ensure quality and production readiness before release; monitor the health of work efforts and adjacent systems.
- Demonstrated track record of domain expertise including the ability to develop business partnerships and influence priorities by identifying solutions that align with current business objectives and follow industry trends relevant to the domain.
- Strong problem solving ability using data and proofs of concepts to find creative solutions to difficult problems with many factors and broad implications; reflect on solutions, measure impact, and optimize.
- Excellent communication skills to develop business partnerships, describe technology concepts in business-friendly terms, document initiatives succinctly, and listen effectively.
- Ability to lead and take action even when there is no clear owner, inspire and motivate others, and influence team members.
- Bachelorβs degree in computer science, related STEM field, or its equivalent in education and/or work experience.
- 6 additional years of data engineering experience.

Compensation overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
