Responsibilities
- Own end to end delivery of AI initiatives from discovery to production, ensuring predictable execution, risk management, and measurable value
- Articulate delivery plans, milestones, dependencies, and release criteria; highlight tradeoffs and key decisions
- Convert business problems into implementable designs and backlog-ready work, aligning engineering, security, architecture, and stakeholders
- Design and build scalable AI systems, including data pipelines, training and inference workflows, and integration with applications and services
- Develop and deploy AI solutions using modern platforms and orchestrations such as LLM workflows, agent patterns, RAG, grounding, evaluation gates, and safety controls as appropriate
- Promote strong engineering discipline with code quality, automated testing, performance tuning, observability, and operational runbooks for AI services
- Demonstrate practical problem solving, tackle critical-path work, and unblock teams through direct technical contribution
- Create concise executive communications (1-pagers, readouts, decks) detailing problem statements, approach, progress, risks, required decisions, and business impact
- Present technical strategies and delivery updates to senior leadership and diverse audiences with clear, accurate messaging
- Lead technical storytelling for major milestones (architecture approvals, governance checkpoints, production readiness) using crisp visuals and artifacts
- Define and promote reusable patterns, components, and best practices to accelerate AI delivery across teams
- Develop and publish AI standards and participate in model lifecycle governance, including registration, evaluation, and transparency measures
- Contribute to roadmaps and guidance that standardize delivery and strengthen operational resilience
- Mentor engineers, conduct design and code reviews, foster communities of practice, and raise AI engineering capability across delivery teams
- Maintain end-to-end accountability for strategy, architecture, standards, roadmap, adoption, and operational maturity of the assigned technical domain as a trusted expert
- Complete work with minimal supervision
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 7 to 10 years of experience in AI or a related field
- Hands-on experience with modern Generative AI and agentic patterns, including LLM workflows, orchestration frameworks, RAG, grounding, evaluation, and safety controls
- Experience establishing AI standards, scalable enablement mechanisms, reference architectures, and reusable components
- Proven track record driving GenAI code assistants (for example GitHub Copilot) to boost developer productivity with measurable value
- Hands-on work building production grade AI agents using leading platforms (such as Azure AI Foundry) and related technologies like MCP or A2A
- Experience with data platforms (e.g., Databricks) and organizing unstructured data for scalable Generative AI solutions and knowledge management
- Experience with vector stores and graph databases to support AI applications such as recommendation systems
- Strong background in Azure AI and data solutions, with API integrations for accessing LLMs
- Proven ability to conduct threat modeling and implement security controls for AI systems, including prompt-injection defenses, data loss prevention, agent authorization, secure tool execution, secrets management, and adversarial testing
- Experience operationalizing Responsible AI and model risk through technical controls, documentation, human-in-the-loop patterns, traceability, and auditable evidence
- Advanced Python and API/service development skills, plus experience designing distributed, resilient, containerized systems with automated testing
- Experience with Agile or SAFe delivery and CI/CD practices for AI solutions
- Extensive experience working with both structured and unstructured data
- Proven ability to develop sophisticated algorithms to automate processes and tasks
- Deep knowledge of current AI technologies and concepts
