Cherokee Federal seeks a mid-level Data Scientist to design, implement, and operate data management systems that support intelligence requirements. This on-site role in Washington, DC requires an active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph, and encompasses data analytics, modeling, and data architecture to underpin intelligence assessments.
Responsibilities
- Perform data analytics, data mining, exploratory analysis, predictive analytics, and statistical analysis, translating findings into graphical, written, visual, and verbal narratives to inform analytic decisions.
- Proactively retrieve information from diverse sources, analyze datasets for deeper understanding, and develop AI tools to automate select processes.
- Support program evaluation with system assessments, statistical analysis, data mining techniques, and the development of high-quality prediction systems.
- Design how data is stored, accessed, used, integrated, and managed across various data regimes and digital systems.
- Collaborate with data users to define, create, and populate optimal data architectures, structures, and systems.
- Plan, design, and optimize data throughput and query performance.
- Provide support in modeling, visualization, machine learning, statistics, data engineering, and pattern recognition as needed.
- Apply data science approaches to identify anomalies, patterns, or relationships that inform organizational assessments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain a Counterintelligence polygraph.
- Minimum of four years of related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proficiency in data visualization and graphical applications, including Power BI and Tableau.
- Experience with major data science languages, such as R and Python.
- Experience managing and merging disparate data sources, using R, Python, or SQL.
- Experience with statistical analysis and data mining algorithms.
- Experience with large scale Multi-INT analytics, machine learning, and automated predictive analytics.
- Comprehensive mission knowledge and completion of all developmental training.
- Ability to interpret information that may be incomplete, indirect, highly complex, seemingly unrelated, and technically advanced.
- Ability to structure analysis based on reporting trends and cross-disciplinary perspectives.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to collaborate with other IC members on information sharing, driving collection, and resolving analytic disputes.
- Ability to develop concise, insightful, and comprehensive defense intelligence products.
- Ability to lead teams in researching multifaceted or critical problems.
- Must pass Cherokee Federal pre-employment qualifications.
