Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Search - Local Services Team

Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Seattle, WA (onsite), for TikTok's Local Services Search team focusing on large-scale ML in search and recommendation to improve local services discovery and ecosystem growth.

Responsibilities

• Support local video service initiatives to boost user discovery of life services such as hospitality, dining, and leisure.
• Enhance search quality for local services and drive ecosystem growth.
• Apply large-scale ML techniques in search and recommendation across billions of users to improve shopping experiences and increase conversion efficiency.
• Design and implement end-to-end local services search algorithms across the stack, covering query analysis, relevance, recall, coarse and fine ranking, and blended ranking; develop personalized relevance modeling; predict CTR and CVR; and implement vector recall and value blending.

Requirements

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Solid foundation in machine learning and deep learning with experience in natural language processing (NLP).
• Proficient coding skills with a strong grasp of data structures and algorithms.
• Experience developing in Linux environments.
• Previous work on search, recommendation, or advertisement algorithms.
• Familiarity with local life services and e-commerce domains.

PAY TRANSPARENCY

• The base salary range for this position in Seattle, WA is USD 202,160 - 368,220 per year.
• Compensation may vary outside this range based on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is part of the Total Package and this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.
• Benefits may vary by employment type and country of work location.
