Responsibilities
- Enhance basic search quality and user experience by optimizing query analysis and text relevance matching
- Understand video content and implement multi-modal matching
- Improve users' perception of product authority and participate in the design and implementation of core search products
- Advance the end-to-end user experience across the search experience
- Design and implement the full ranking pipeline (recall, first-stage ranking, final-stage ranking and mixed row) leveraging large-scale behavioral data to model personalized interests
- Support ecosystem development by solving supply and demand matching, cold start, and sustainable growth challenges from both technology and business perspectives
- Analyze and evolve the system to drive long-term, sustainable GMV growth
- Innovate with Generative Recommendation Systems by integrating generative approaches and leveraging LLMs to generate personalized content recommendations beyond traditional ranking methods
- Explore frameworks like GenRec that use LLMs to interpret user contexts and generate relevant recommendations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, data scientists, infrastructure engineers, and operations teams to enable search personalization aligned with product goals
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field
- Proficiency with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and programming languages (Python, Java, C++), with strong data structures and algorithms knowledge
- 2+ years building large-scale search or recommendation systems (feed, search, ads, etc); familiarity with generative recommendation frameworks for large-scale systems is highly desired
- Prior experience in search, recommendation, or advertising algorithms
- Publication records in journals or conferences

Base salary range: USD 129,960 - 246,240 per year. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is part of the Total Package and may include discretionary bonuses or incentives and restricted stock units.
