Join Deloitte in a Cyber AI Data Engineer Senior Consultant role that emphasizes resilient, secure, and compliant operations built on modern data platforms and AI driven automation. You will design, build, and operate governed data foundations powering cyber risk, compliance evidence, and AI-enabled workflows in regulated environments. This onsite position is based in Jericho, NY, with a salary range of USD 118,700 to 218,600 per year and collaboration across Cyber, Risk, Compliance, Privacy, and Legal teams. Expect travel up to 25 percent as client needs evolve.
The team centers on enabling secure, auditable data practices and scalable automation. You will contribute to repeatable reference architectures, accelerators, and governance patterns that help clients modernize and scale cyber and GRC programs.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable batch and streaming pipelines that ingest security telemetry, control evidence, and compliance artifacts into governed data stores such as lakehouses or data warehouses.
- Model data for risk and controls domains, including KRIs, issues/defects, risk acceptance, control testing outcomes, audit evidence, and policy exceptions; enable self-service analytics and dashboards.
- Implement data quality checks, data lineage, metadata management, and access controls to support auditability and regulatory defensibility with repeatable evidence generation.
- Build AI enabled capabilities to accelerate GRC and cyber operations, such as evidence summarization, control testing assist, policy Q&A, investigation copilots, ticket triage, and exception reasoning, using agentic patterns like tool calling, workflow orchestration, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
- Engineer secure integrations between data platforms, GRC workflows, and enterprise systems via APIs, event patterns, and connectors, with observability and runbooks for production support.
- Collaborate with Cyber, Risk, Compliance, Privacy, and Legal stakeholders to translate requirements into implementable controls and developer-ready guardrails.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least four years of hands-on data engineering and software development experience, with Python and SQL proficiency.
- Proven experience building production data pipelines and data models (batch and/or streaming) with strong engineering discipline including CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and incident response.
- Experience implementing governance controls in data and AI systems, including data classification, PII handling, least-privilege access, encryption/secrets, retention, audit logging, and lineage/metadata.
- Experience supporting GRC workflows and evidence needs, such as risk reporting, audit data requests, controls monitoring/testing, compliance metrics, or GRC tooling integrations.
- Practical experience building agentic or LLM-enabled applications in enterprise settings, including RAG, vector/hybrid retrieval, tool/function calling, evaluation/monitoring, prompt-injection defenses, and secure access patterns.
- Experience with one or more major cloud platforms and modern deployment patterns (containers, IaC, secured APIs, secrets management).
- Ability to travel up to 25 percent on average, depending on client needs.
- Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
