Mouser Electronics offers an onsite environment in Mansfield, TX where you can build expertise as a technical SME across established product areas. In this role, you will research, normalize, and maintain product technical data through Product Information Management (PIM) and related data quality tools, supporting consistent sourcing for customers across regions worldwide.
What youβll do
- Perform technical data research, assessment, and acquisition using the Internet, supplier websites, search engines, spreadsheets, and internal databases.
- Normalize collected information into a consistent format governed by Tech Data established procedures.
- Collaborate to manage the classification, collection, implementation, and maintenance of product technical data using the PIM system and Data Quality Analyst tools.
- Plan, develop, and manage hierarchies for assigned product categories based on product type and/or technology.
- Ensure data relevance for sourcing needs in all regions worldwide.
- Build Mouser Product Data acumen and apply it to each classification and attribution task assigned.
- Use knowledge of the classification hierarchy to identify misclassified products and reclassify them into the correct template.
- Evaluate template attributes against the template taxonomy and recommend changes that benefit customers.
- Review data as presented on Mouser.com and recommend improvements to normalization, sorting, and the order of parametric attributes to enhance product sourcing.
- Maintain open, timely communication with interested parties, stakeholders, and teams.
- Use strong organizational skills to document, categorize, prioritize, provide easy access to information, ask questions, follow up, and maintain communications.
- Represent the company professionally with internal and external customers.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) within established product areas and contribute to process solutions through functional design.
- Demonstrate a passion to improve processes, initiate change, and embrace new technologies.

Requirements
- Bachelorβs Degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline. In lieu of a degree, 6 years of relevant work experience is desired; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- 4+ years of Electronic Component experience required (for internal candidates, experience can be a combination of internal and external).
- Solid knowledge of PCN (Product Change Notices) and component life cycle.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Familiarity working in and with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational and analytical/technical problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and interpret Technical Data Sheets, Product Guides, scientific and technical journals, and related engineering documents.
- PC experience in Microsoft Windows environment, including internet email and tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Electronic Design, Systems Design, Test Engineering, or Electronic Component experience required.
- Skill evaluation: Behavioral (80%).
- Ability to set and track goals, demonstrate a positive attitude toward self and others, and set independent judgments with minimum supervision.
