Audax Group is hiring an AI Engineer Co-Op with the Business Solutions team to support the Director, AI Solutions Architect for Audax Private Equity. This hybrid role in Boston, MA combines hands-on AI development with governance and deployment support, giving you exposure to how AI initiatives move from proof of concept to production in a cloud environment.
You will collaborate across internal teams, contribute to AI ecosystem development, and help coordinate the work required to support new use cases. The role also includes support for AI governance policies, data validation, and user testing across different firm function areas.
What you’ll do
- Assist with designing, implementing, maintaining, and scaling Audax’s AI ecosystem.
- Coordinate with internal IT professionals to scale AI infrastructure within the company’s cloud enterprise.
- Contribute to proof-of-concept development for function area use cases across the firm.
- Support implementation of AI governance policies, including security, documentation, and privacy.
- Perform data validation and data quality assessments by working with the firm’s internal data engineers.
- Code in an IDE environment (VS Code) using Python, SQL, and Git.
- Use cloud environment services to support AI application development and deployment.
- Experiment with modern AI architectures to support experimentation and use case development.
- Coordinate across firm function areas for information gathering, updates, and user testing.
What you’ll bring
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Computational Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with at least two of the following: traditional machine learning, natural language processing, transfer learning/fine-tuning, predictive analytics, agentic frameworks, AI output evaluation, data engineering.
- Strong written and oral communication and critical thinking skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Previous Co-Op or full-time experience in a related field is a plus.

Compensation & schedule
Hourly rate: USD 30.00–34.00 per hour.
Internship cycle: January to June 2027.
Anticipated dates: January 4 to June 25, 2027 (flexible based on school requirements).
Work location: Boston, MA (hybrid, 3-4 days in office).
Travel: No regular travel is required.
